Stage Fright

I have rehearsed
know everything
but then it happens
i perspire under the hot lights,

naked

for all the world to see.

Moments ago, I was confident
a part of the crowd
now I stand alone
terrified.

So many faces
too many, mocking me
they'll all remember
point, laugh

for a night of eternity.

But the show must go on.
