Babylon

Touching the stone
whispers of an ancient time
standing there all alone
Babylon calls to me
from the farthest star
a whisper to the one who
sees

Infinite in the realm of space
a God that we cannot know
a God that we cannot see
the end of days
touch the fire
with no words to say
again

My thoughts they drift away
in the ecstacy of life
asleep when prophets say
when I die
and human I am
will you pay for the earth and
sky

Troubled in my salvation
can we do what Jesus said
ever since the day
we let him die
in the shame of our hearts
we let him die
again
