Vampire epic 1/3: The Progeny

In the castle of my enemy,
in the very midst of agony,
I found my progeny.
In the guise of a child,
this killer unleashed upon the waking world
may contend
with the ideology,
the very fabric of what it means to hunt.
This will eat them from the inside
this will turn them upon themselves.

Her name was Elisabeth.
With simple blue eyes and long flowing raven hair,
she wept at the death of her kin,
but knew her place was with me.
A vampire fresh from a kill,
would urn for the thirst and the Rebirth,
as only a child could ever possibly know.
This life I have given her,
this immortality,
is my gift to the daughter of the Hunter.

With the war renewed,
the simple pleasure of the blood
is contrite with the seed of true evil,
the evil of mankind.
In the heart of the kingdom of man
the fallen grace of a species,
the vampire is derived into the shadow.
Why must I hide from them,
why must we hide for survival,
when we are the Prince’s of this world.

Superior in every aspect,
though the sun is our enemy,
should the strong not rule
and the weak perish in the fire.
For us to rule,
a just hand must muster the force of nature,
the spirit of the world.
In the shadow,
in the shade,
we make amends for the curse of immortality.

The war takes it’s toll on the flesh,
and the beauty as mankind goes unaware,
the prospect of peace now seems so far away.
For I have taken,
the life of their God,
the life of their daughter.
I have so much to answer for.
Peace is possible, when bittersweet hearts
find their way once again.
Until then, there is only war.
